Rear Wheel Forks Visible Here
Notice first that the chassis is pitched up at the rear. This configuration helps to bleed off recoil energy that is imparted to the upper carriage upon discharge of the piece. Note too, that the rear forks are square to the bottom of the chassis I-beam rail. Only the exterior wheel surface is tapered by 3 degrees to compensate for the rail incline.
