    Fort Sumter`s Parade

Approximately one-half of the original parade is occupied by Battery Huger, the Endicott Period artillery battery. This 15 inch Rodman Columbiad dominates one grassy corner. Weighing about 50,000 pounds, it`s pretty impressive. This type of gun was never fired in anger during the war and was certainly not located at this fort anytime during the war.
