Mortar Position View of Ft. Sumter

This photograph of Fort Sumter was taken from a spot, on the east shore of the Fort Johnson waterfront, believed to be very close to the 10 inch seacoast mortar position used by the Confederate artilleryman who launched the first official shot of the War Between The States on April 12, 1861.
