15 Inch Rodman Guns Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland

We loved the museum there. They have some really nice dioramas. Inside the fort you can see some Revolutionary War cannon and some projectiles fired at the fort during the famous battle with the British Naval forces which inspired Francis Scott Key to write the `Star Spangled Banner`. One of these projectiles is the very large 13 Inch Mortar Shell fired from British ships suited for that purpose. The water battery outside has the big guns we were looking for. There are lots of Rodman guns of various sizes, even some experimental 10 Inch Rodman Guns coverted to 8 inch rifles. A wide variety of carriage types are also on display.
